Orthodontics has long been and remains a passion in my life: being part of a person’s life-changing journey as we straighten their teeth and transform their smile is deeply rewarding.
For over 30 years, I’ve had the honor of watching people change over the course of treatment. Regardless of their age – a child, teen, parent, or grandparent – each person gains more comfort with their appearance, and with that comes an increase in their confidence.
The best day, for me, is when a patient finishes treatment and their new smile is revealed. Looking back at the improvement in their teeth, and seeing how proud the person is with what we’ve accomplished, is professionally and personally gratifying.”

Education & Experience
Born and raised in Bismarck, Dr. Keim attended the University of North Dakota, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and Psychology, graduating summa cum laude.
Dental school and his orthodontic residency were through the University of Minnesota, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Certificate in Orthodontics.
Following his specialized orthodontic training, in 1988 Dr. Keim moved to Fargo with his wife Sarah and started his practice.
He and his staff – many of whom have been the office for decades and several since the practice opened – share the goal of providing quality orthodontics and caring for patients as family.
Professional Memberships
Through ongoing continuing education – meetings, seminars, lectures – Dr. Keim stays on top of the current trends and new technologies in orthodontics. As a team, he and his staff participate in in-office presentations, discussing innovations and integrating the best new developments into the practice and patient care.
At the same time, Dr. Keim balances the new concepts and options with his 30-plus years of experience, to give patients the most predictable, stable, and lasting smiles.

Additionally, he had the honor of serving as faculty at the University of Minnesota from 2004 to 2010.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Keim and his family have treasured living in Fargo for these many years. He and his wife, Sarah, have three grown children who have moved to wonderful areas of the country: a daughter and son-in-law who live in Denver with their newborn child; a son in Dallas; and another daughter in Austin.
The family enjoys traveling to see one another and gets together as often as they can.
Dr. Keim and Sarah enjoy their time at the lake and feel blessed that their children can spend extended periods with them there.
At the lake, Dr. Keim enjoys waterskiing, wake surfing, sailing, and relaxing on the pontoon. During the winter, the family regularly organizes trips to the mountains for some snow skiing and time together.
